Part 1
Using the available references, find a court case where automated fingerprint identification was used and write a 100-word summary of the contents. You may use an internet search but make sure that only a reliable source is used.
Note: Make sure that your court case is AFIS related. Do not use statistical summaries or incident summaries. A court case is necessary.
Part 2
Briefly explain the purposes and limitations of computerized fingerprint search systems.
Post your summary in the Webliography Tab (located next to the Help tab) by the end of this unit.
How to Post to the Webliography Tab
Click on the Webliography tab
Click on “Add New Entry”
Type in the title of your article or case
Copy and paste the URL of the article that you found.
Write a 100 word synopsis of the case.
Explain the purposes and limitations (Part 2 of the Activity)
Click “Add Entry”
NOTE: It might be wise to write your Part 1 synopsis and Part 2 narrative in a Word document, proof it, and then copy and paste to the “Brief Description” Webliography area.
