plays a prominent role in mental health research. Many college students don’t seek help due to the stigma surrounding their condition (Eeisenberg, Daniel, 2019). In today’s college life, according to “Journal of College health” some college students do not know about their resources on campus to help deal with how they are feeling (Yorgason,Jeremy B. 2010). In one journal the researcher describes the factors of depression and anxiety having an effect on stress amongst college students. The author explains perfectly each principle so that the reader can understand them even if they do not have a mental health background. This journal is distinctive in describing easily an introduction to why academic stress, depression, and anxiety can all correlate. Throughout the text Bhujade, provides explicit information that allows us to get more insight on depression and anxiety among college students. The researcher is able to provide cross sectional epidemiological studies that provides many variables and experiences of a college student. The research supports the claims of our research question by providing emotional and psychological problems that are encountered by college students. (Bhujade, V. M. 2017). In this psychological journal, the author describes the relationship between environmental stressors and illness, and how it affects college students. It navigates through the different relationships that anxiety and depression. It is a unique source that helps the reader understand the possible ties between social support, and gender roles and coping. The authors provided a ton of studies that supported the hypothesis and give an abundant supply of information and studies.
Summary:
When transitioning into a new environment, that would cause anyone to become anxious or feel alone. Today’s college students, battle with tremendous amounts of responsibilities, 50% of students claim it is hard for them to focus in school (The Top Mental Health Challenges Facing Students).

Review of Literature
The purpose of this review was to synthesize current literature on understand the college students importance of seeking help, whether from their peers, or a health professional such as a counselor on campus. A review of the literature was conducted on how important is it to a college student to seek help when dealing with anxiety or depression. A search for a full text for the year of 2019 was completed in the Host andProQuest databases. The key words used in the search were mental illness, college students, and help seeking. The EBSCOHost, yielded limited literature of only 7, while the ProQuest database provided 30 articles on the topic. Five articles were selected based on the strength of evidence and and year of publication.
Empirical Literature:
Eisenberg, Daniel (2019), discusses in the article that in order to help college students there needs to be a conversation had on the resources that are available on college campuses. Understanding the resources, and explaining how to access those resources will help college students be aware of the help on campus. Yorgason, Jeremy B (2010), discusses the importance of understanding the growth in mental health among college students. According to the article 5-9 students have claimed to have thought of suicide.
Gaps in Literature:
The part of the research that was missing from the literature, was approximately how many college students feel the importance to seek help for their mental health. With this study, surveying males and females on a college campus regarding the research question will help close the gap in the literature.
